Shed & Small-Building Bases
A slab sitting on ground that won't move
Based on your answers, here's what we'd use

Road Crush 3/4" Minus
The compacted, load-bearing base under the slab.
We recommend about 6″ deep — sized for the weight of the slab and what goes in the building
A slab poured on unprepared ground cracks where the ground settles under it.
Why this material
- Standard base under gravel and hardscape
- Packs into a firm surface
- Carries the slab so it does not crack
- Sand over it evens out the pour surface
A compacted gravel base carries the slab, and a thin sand layer over it evens out the surface before the pour.
