Water moving away from the wall instead of into it
Based on your answers, here's what we'd use
Water already inside the building, or a wall that is cracked or moving, is worth having someone look at on site before you dig. Call BC One Call before any digging.

Washed Drain Rock - 3/4"
Rounded, washed stone with no fines in it, so water moves through the gaps instead of being held against the wall.
We recommend about 12″ deep — sized to keep soil from packing straight against the wall
Soil packed against a foundation holds water, and water held against concrete finds its way through.
Why this material
- For drainage against a footing
- A clear path for water
- Drains to the pipe instead of into the wall
- Washed, with no fines to silt it up
A column of washed rock against the footing gives water a path down and out, so it drains to the pipe rather than soaking into the wall.
